Nowadays more people are meeting the love of their life on dating apps. According to The Knot, in 2020 26% of newlyweds met online. Allan and Sally’s story is no exception. Fate in the OKCupid algorithm and destiny brought these two wonderful beings together.
Fittingly so, the proposal took place during this couple’s travels. Throughout the course of their relationship, Alan and Sally have traveled the world together, some places they have been to are Greece, Thailand, Dubai! So, how did Alan ask?
In 2019, these lovebirds booked a flight to South Africa, Capetown. Before they were about to go on a wine tour, Alan popped the question in their hotel room at AC Hotel Capetown.
As Sally was getting together the essentials to bring, Alan was behind her on one knee, teary-eyed, and said “you forgot something.” When Sally turned around, Alan proposed and apparently “was so nervous that he had the ring box opened upside down…” Sally said she blacked out afterward because she forgot what happened after, other than saying “YES!” Sally was truly so surprised. After that beautiful memory in their hotel room, the couple set out to visit six vineyards.
Alan and Sally’s charming Capetown proposal featured our Petite French Set Diamond Ring, which Alan found on Rare Carat. This ring style from our Classic Collection is a great balance between classic yet contemporary. Some more specs about Sally’s gorgeous engagement ring:
